Facilities

 

Faculty, staff, and students associated with the Animation Research Labs use facilities located in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering and elsewhere on the UW campus, including:

  • Graphics and Imaging Laboratory
    GRAIL is the computer graphics and imaging research facility of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering.

  • Motion Capture Laboratory
    CSE's Motion Capture Laboratory is a high-tech facility designed to acquire and analyze human motion data. Its primary purpose is to advance current cutting-edge research in computer animation tools and techniques.

  • Video Wall
    UW Computing & Communications and Computer Science & Engineering operate a state-of-the-art 7' X 14' Sony VideoWall. The VideoWall consists of a 3x4 grid of near-HDTV-resolution projection monitors.

  • CARTAH
    The Center for Advanced Research Technology in the Arts and Humanities (CARTAH) is a center in the College of Arts & Sciences whose mission is to promote the development of a community of artists and scholars engaged in technology-based work, to foster liaisons between this research community and the University's arts and humanities departments, and to provide state-of-the-art computing and media resources.
