 2011-12 Annual Meeting
      (October 19-20)
 List of Posters and Demos

The poster session will be held from
5:00 – 8:00pm on WEDNESDAY, October 19, 2011.
  • To print your poster use the large-format color printer (psclarge), located in CSE 415. Templates and instructions on its use are here.
  • Turnaround Time. Please keep in mind that it takes approximately 15 minutes to print a poster. So you are encouraged to print your posters as soon as possible. Many, blithely waiting until the last couple of days, will undoubtedly end up using the old cut-and-paste method. Your poster won't look as clean, and will stand out (and not in that good way!)
  • Size & Other Details. The posterboard measures 32" wide x 40" tall, so make your poster to that size. Templates are a big help! (Those templates were developed on the earlier model printer, and they may still work. To make it easier for everybody to contribute templates, we have setup the new Poster Template Wiki. If you confirm that an old template works, please transcribe it to the wiki!)
  • If you are using slides, about 8, at most 9 slides will fit onto a poster.
  • PLEASE use portrait orientation if possible, since space is so tight and we have so many posters to arrange.
  • Use the "Heavy Coated" or "48 lb." paper, to avoid a crinkling effect on solid colors. (This is what is normally mounted on the printer, but if you are unsure, the front-panel can be used to determine what media is loaded.)
  • Mounting. Posterboard and mounting supplies are located in CSE 415, near the poster printer. There is a table for affixing your poster onto the mouting board. Please... DO NOT SPRAY ADHESIVE ONTO THE TABLE!!!
  • Finished? When you have completed your poster, please send email to Kay Beck-Benton to let her know (if you don't, she will end up hounding you on the status, so save yourself the grief!). All posters need to be ready for display by mid-morning of October 19.
  • The complete lists of posters and demos are now available on the web. Please check your entry to see if we have the title and author(s) correct! Contact Kay Beck-Benton with any changes.
