InterTrust Technologies Corporation

STAR Lab, Engineering

Umesh Maheshwari will be in the HUB on Friday, February 25, from 9 am to 2 pm.

Company Background

InterTrust provides solutions for digital rights management (DRM). Our technologies protect and manage the rights of all parties trading digital goods -- artists, authors, producers, publishers, distributors, consumers, and others. We have forged partnerships with a number of the world's great corporations to use InterTrust® DRM technology for a wide range of content types and applications.

Founded in 1990, InterTrust has about 200 employees and trades on the NASDAQ National Market under the symbol ITRU. Its principal facility is located in Santa Clara, near the center of Silicon Valley.

InterTrust offers generous compensation, including medical, dental, life, and disability insurance, a 401(k) plan, stock options, and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

Strategic Technologies and Architectural Research Laboratory

The nature of the problems InterTrust is addressing has led it to develop most of its own technology. STAR Lab was formed in early 1997 to ensure that InterTrust will have adequate technical options to support its business strategies two, five, and even ten years into the future, and to provide expertise to help in choosing those strategies.

It is unusual to find a research group like STAR Lab associated with a small company. This combination offers researchers an exceptional opportunity to impact the company and its products, and through them, the world. STAR spans the spectrum from theoretical to applied research, but its most valued results are those that enhance and influence InterTrust's business strategies. STAR Lab's 14 members interact extensively with business development and engineering groups. They also publish, give talks, attend conferences, and participate in other professional activities.

STAR projects address a variety of technical issues. We have active or planned work in DRM architectures, cryptography, tamper resistance, security, secure databases, data mining, watermarking, languages for expressing contracts, distributed systems, auctions, and novel applications of DRM technology. We expect to expand to other areas as the needs of the company change and grow.

STAR Lab is actively recruiting researchers in areas related to electronic commerce and digital rights management. We have openings for both permanent employees and graduate student summer research interns.

Other Employment Opportunities

InterTrust also has permanent openings for engineers at various levels.
