How to use the CSE Student Resume Database

One of the benefits of the CSE Industrial Affiliates Program is the exclusive ability of Affiliate Members to search the CSE Student Resume Database for prospective employees. This benefit is restricted to current Affiliates Program members in good standing, and access to the database is password-protected.

CSE has historically maintained a locally-developed database of resumes, but we are retiring that database as of December 1, 2002. After that date, we will be using a new resume database hosted by AfterCollege.com.

The new Resume Database can be found HERE.

When you go to the new page, you will see the following:

This is the main page to the new tool. On the right side are menus for Students, Employers, and soon to be added, alumni.

If you would like to view student resumes, click on the 'View Resumes' link under the Employers section of the menu. You will be presented with a login screen:

If you already have an account established, just login with your username and password, and you will be taken to the Resume Search Page.

If you do not yet have an account, you will need to establish a new account with us. Click on the 'Establish Account' Link. You will be taken to the following page:

After you fill out this page and submit it, the Industrial Affiliates Administrator will receive a message indicating you have set up an account and requested access to the student resume database. If you are from an Affiliate Company in good standing, your access will be granted. If your company is not a member of the program, or is not currently in good standing, the administrator will contact you directly regarding your membership.

Under the old resume tool, there was a universal username and password for all users. Under this new tool, each user will have their own username and password. In this way, we can assure our members in good standing that only they have access to this program benefit.

Once your access has been approved, when you log in to view resumes, you will be taken to the Resume Search page:

Here you have the options of viewing ALL resumes in the CSE database, or you can prune your selection down using the options shown above.

When the resumes are uploaded to this tool, they are completely indexed, so the search engine is very robust, and will find any instance of a keyword that you stipulate.

If you have any questions or comments, please email Kay Beck-Benton, External Relations Coordinator.
