It's amazing how it all comes together in the Microsoft Atrium. We designed the Allen Center as a people-friendly place and here is the first evidence.

One of our major goals was a building infused with natural light. Light filters down six stories, and sun and clouds create an ever-changing display of light and shadow upon the architecture. Natural light is visible from the interior offices and labs overlooking the Atrium.

As the Allen Center's "crossroads" and most dramatic architectural amenity, the Atrium is a gathering place for faculty, students, staff, and visitors. Come visit during the daytime and enjoy a latte in the cafe. See and be seen from the walkways and stairways to all floors. A space designed with great flexibility, the Atrium at night can transform into a dramatic area for conferences, receptions and dinners, and other events.
