Directions: Exit the Jaech Gallery from the south doorway and turn right. At the juncture with the north-south corridor you will be at the top of the Silverberg Landing.

8. Silverberg Landing

This high-finish open stairway with a seating area at the base unites the two floors housing most CSE faculty. The stairway contributes to the open feeling of the building and increases interaction. CSE has a long tradition of intermingling faculty offices without respect to technical speciality, lab location, and seniority. The building's open environment encourages people to see and talk to each other. It sparks ideas and promotes collaboration and camaraderie. Just imagine a chance encounter between faculty and students that could lead to a new research project and a next generation advance in computer architecture or software.
