UW will provide a 100% (1:1) match for faculty/staff/retiree endowment gifts of between $5,000 and $10,000 paid over as many as 5 years!

You're probably familiar with the Students First student endowment matching campaign: UW will provide a 50% match for any gift (including a group gift) of $100,000 or more that establishes a new endowment to support undergraduate or graduate students. (CSE Students First information here.)

There is an entirely separate program that provides a 100% (1:1) match for any gift by a faculty member, staff member, or retiree (including Affiliate faculty members!) that totals between $5,000 and $10,000 over a 5-year period!

As with the Students First matching program, your gift must go towards an endowment that supports students. Unlike Students First, though, your gift can go to a pre-existing endowment -- funds from multiple faculty/staff/retiree donors, matched 1:1 by UW, can be directed towards the same pre-existing fund, building a substantial endowment from a number of matched contributions.

Here are the details:

It is possible to set up a new endowment as part of the FSR match program. And, of course, faculty/staff/retirees who can give at the $100,000 level can obtain a 50% match for the entire amount through the Students First match program. (If you're interested in either of these routes, contact Ed Lazowska.) But to make it simple, we are focusing on the following three existing endowments: Making a commitment and obtaining the match is easy!

Great students are the lifeblood of our program. This is a highly leveraged way to support CSE's great students!
