CSE Annual Giving

Every year, hundreds of CSE friends and alumni choose to support the CSE Annual Fund at levels between tens of dollars and thousands of dollars. These annual gifts -- which are expended rather than placed into endowments -- support all of CSE's priority areas:

Annual fund gifts allow us to advance today, while we build our endowments for the future. Did you know ... For further information:

CSE Endowment Campaign: "the people part"

Now that the Paul G. Allen Center for Computer Science & Engineering is humming with activity, we turn our attention in earnest to "the people part" of our campaign -- endowments to support faculty and student excellence and innovation.

Why are endowments so critical? Paul Allen said it best:

"I'm proud to have supported this beautiful and unique facility. But what really sets UW's computer science program apart are the people -- the faculty and the students. The Allen Center is a wonderful home for the program, but at the end of the day it's the excitement, intelligence, and innovation of the men and women in this organization that make it what it is."
-- Paul G. Allen

CSE Building Campaign complete!: $42 million to build the Allen Center

Thank you! In July 2003 we completed the capital portion of the Campaign for CSE -- $42 million in private funds required to complete our new building!

In October 2003 we dedicated the Paul G. Allen Center for Computer Science & Engineering. This remarkable facility -- which increases CSE's total space by a factor of 2.5 and our laboratory space by a factor of 3 -- will take University of Washington Computer Science & Engineering to new levels of impact and excellence in teaching and research!

Our capital campaign attracted more than 250 supporters, whose gifts ranged from $10 to $14 million. Our campaign was a success because friends and alumni supported us at all levels.
