Panoramic Mosaic Stitching: Gasworks Park

Michael Beal

I used my own camera for these pictures.  The pictures I took with the Kaidan head did not come out well, see them at the bottom of the page.  Jiwon helped me calibrate my camera.  We found the focal length to be 679.90891 pixels and r1 = -.24862, r2 = 1.83708.  I found that the radial distortion we too high and lowered r2 to 0.03708.  As I sample each image to the final panoramic, I blend and normalize the edges as I sample them.  Therefore,  I do not accumulate and normalize the blending.

For this panorama I used a tripod.  I had to change displacement slightly for each picture for them to line up correctly because I did not have the Kaiden head.

This panorama is the hand-held sequence.  It did not turn out well.  I think I moved vertically too much.  I could not get the pictures to line up correctly, so there is a lot of ghosting.
