Information about the final exam in CSE 473


The final will cover a combination of pre-midterm material and class material since the midterm.  Here's a list of the post-midterm topics that will be covered.  As with the midterm, bring a mark-sense form to the exam and some number 2 pencils.
 
 

  • Perceptron learning algorithm and the criterion of linear separability.

  • Bayes' rule, odds, lambda and lambda' values, fuzzy logic.

  • Semantic grammars and augmented transition nets.

  • The 13 relations of the interval algebra for temporal reasoning and the use of the transitivity table.

  • Resolution in the propositional calculus. unification and resolution in the predicate calculus including conversion to clause form. Suggested exercises: #13, 14, 15.  on p.326.

  • Planning with the STRIPS representation.  World-space vs plan space. The frame problem (what is it?).

  • Case-based reasoning -- system components and organization, distance metrics.
