Assignments

There will be three types --

Reading: Much of the 800 page H&P book will be readand discussed, with primary sources (papers, manuals) augmenting the book.Commentaries on the readings will count towards class participation.

Homework: Some "paper and pencil" assignments will begiven.

Measurement and Simulation: Using software toolssuch as ATOM and Etch perform performance studies of single processorarchitectures.

Exam

There will be a final exam

Grading

40% Final, 50% Assignments, 10% Class Participation
