CSE 142 Computer Programming I -- Summer 2005

Instructor: Marty Stepp

Course Description: Basic programming-in-the-small abilities and concepts. Highlights include procedural and functional abstraction with simple built-in data type manipulation. Basic abilities of writing, executing, and debugging programs.

The final exams are graded. We have decided to curve the final exam scores by 5 points. You can view your course grade from the following link. The final exam score listed is your raw uncurved score, but the Weighted Final Exam Score listed includes the curve.

CSE 142 Summer 2005, Course Grades

 

IMPORTANT NOTICES:

  • A Final exam key is now available, so that you can check your final exam answers. The exams are now available to be picked up from the front desk in the Allen building. ID is required to pick up an exam.
  • A Final exam review session, led by our hard-working TAs, will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2005, 3:00 - 5:00 PM in EE1-037. (The EE building is attached to the Allen Center CSE building.) They will bring the various sample problems we've seen here on this web site, in Section #9, and so on. If you plan to attend, you may wish to bring some questions about particular problems or topics you want to cover.
  • Sample final exam is now available (PDF, HTML), along with a key (PDF, HTML). The exam is next Friday, August 19, in class from 12-1pm. The exam is open-book and open-notes. Bring any paper materials you like. The real exam will be very similar to this one in the type and number of questions that will be asked. We will also go over a different set of sample exam problems in section.
  • Late day policy reminder: All homework must be turned in by Friday, August 19, 6:00pm. This means that you may only turn in Homework 8 up to 3 days late, regardless of the number of late days you may have remaining.
  • Anonymous feedback: If you'd like to send an anonymous message to Marty about the course, please use the new CSE 142 Anonymous Feedback form. Your anonymity is assured when using this form; Marty, the TAs, and others involved with the course cannot see any information about who is sending the message.
