Ruby Resources

There are two primary portals that provide Ruby resources:

William Mitchell, who teaches comparative programming languages at the University of Arizona, has agreed to provide us with a complete set of his excellent lecture slides. William devoted more time to Ruby in his class than we will, so these notes are more detailed than what we'll get through. But they are a great resource for people who want to review material step by step in a logical progression:

Complete lecture notes (a pdf with 214 slides)
Abbreviated lecture notes (a pdf with 107 slides)
William has an irb init file (.irbrc) that does some useful setup (e.g., defining a method "it" that returns the most recent value computed by the interpreter). Save this to your attu account or log in to attu and give this command:

```

Programming Ruby, an online version of the first edition of our optional text (the one you buy at the bookstore is 2nd edition, but this one is free and has the index and table of contents as navigation windows)
