MOTIVation

1. Operational Concepts

MOTIVation is a general client-server system.

Users' mobile device sends location info to central server, and can ask the server for compiled information.

2. System Requirement

Smart applets will seek modules that hook into various locator hardware in order of accuracy:

GPS -> E911 Phase II information (triangulated cell tower signals) -> Basic tower id/location

Demo servlet is representative of a personal MOTIVation server.

3. System and Software Architecture

Backend part of MOTIVation can be thought of as a specialized database.

Frontend is simple menu-based applet.

4. Lifecycle Plan

Motivation will be handled just like any other server software

5. Feasibility Rationale

Basic cell tower id location is already implemented by Phase I of Enhanced 911 (E911) services.
