My artifact for project 1 is a composite of four images from four distinct internet sources.
The first step in creating the composite was to isolate the elements
in the individual images that I wanted to put in final image. I created
closed contours of the man doing capoeira and of the eye on the Anubis statue.

The next step was to position the masked elements on the background image.
Then lighting was adjusted in photoshop.
As you can see, at this stage, the lighting was much better, but still not
quite right. To take us the final leg of the journey, the image on the left
got a radial blur, variations adjustment, and lighting effect (ala Photoshop)
to produce the image on the right.

Then, this altered image was placed in two separate Photoshop layers. One
layer was set to effect the luminance (below left) of all the layers below it.
The other was set to have the "color dodge" effect (below right) on all layers
below it.

The final step was to flatten the layers and touch up the resulting image
with contact shadows where appropriate.
