Shot 1: "hungry cat"
Duration: 3 sec.
Scene: closeup of cat's face
Animation: cat's head weaving side to side
Why: introduces the cat.
the cat is watching something.
viewer wants to know what.









Shot 2: "we see the fish"
Duration: 4.5 sec.
Scene: 3/4 back shot from over the cat's shoulder showing that he's watching the fish.
Animation: The cat's head is turning from side to side watching the fish as it swims. The fish is swimming around in the tank.
Why: introduce the fish.
resolves what the cat is watching
builds up anticipation that the cat will do something











Shot 3: "pounce and smack"
Duration: 4.5 sec.
Scene: side view of the cat(1/2 screen) and fish in Tank(1/2 screen)
Animation: the fish is swiming around (including through the castle), then stops and looking at the cat; The cat sniffs at the tank, and then pounces at the tank. The base never leaves the ground but it slides forward. The cat hits the tank.
Why: resolves what the cat does
shows that the cat wants the fish.
shows how the cat can locomote











Shot 4: "head shake"
Duration: 2.5 sec.
Scene: From in front of the cat's head, like shot 1.
Animation: The cat shakes its head, then looks up and to the left then the right.
Why: The cat shakes his head because he just bumped his nose.
emphasizes boundries of the tank to the viewer





Shot 5: "exit stage right"
Duration: 7 sec.
Scene: Same as shot #3, but further out.
Animation: The cat turns around and exits stage right. After a short period of time the fish that had been swimming stops and looks the direction of the cat and blows bubbles. The cat comes hopping fast on stage.
Why: The cat leaves acting like he didn't care about the fish.

Shot 6: "big jump"
Duration: 0.5 sec.
Scene: Side view of the cat, cat fills most of screen
Animation: The cat is making is final big leap out of the camera view.
Why: heightens viewer's curiosity as to whether the cat will succeed



Shot 7: "in the tank"
Duration: 3.5 sec.
Scene: A reverse shot of that done in shot #2
Animation: The cat lands in the tank and turns around
Why: The cat is landing and then looks for the fish.









Shot 8: "where's the fish?"
Duration: 2 sec.
Scene: The camera is in the same position as in shot #3
Animation: The fish swims around the outside of the tank. The fish then swims to the tank facing the cat and blows a bubble.
Why: the punch line
Let the viewer know that the fish doesn't need to be in the tank to swim.







Shot 9: "wide shot"
Duration: 3.5 sec.
Scene: A wide shot of the environment
Animation: The fish swims though its environment. Through the plant causing its leaves to move, and swimming through the handle of the mug.
Why: To better instill into the viewer that the fish can survive anywhere.
