Web Design Project Fair - Student Presentations

This quarter, students in UW CSE's introductory Web Design, Prototyping, & Implementation course (CSE 490L) organized into teams and spend a quarter iteratively designing, prototyping, and evaluating a web user interface for today's modern mobile phones.

Come join us on Monday, June 9th, from 10:30 AM - 1:00 PM to see what the seven student teams created this quarter (feel free to come to just the poster session starting at 12:00). Lunch is on us. It is a great chance to meet top graduating students in computer science, design, informatics, architecture, & digital arts who have an interest in user interfaces. This select group of students includes the designers, programmers, and evaluation specialists of the future.

The HCI Project Fair will take place on the UW campus, Mary Gates Hall (MGH) room 241 (just off of Drumheller Fountain). Details on the project fair activities, this quarter's projects, and how to get there follow.

Activities:

I will give a 30 minute overview of what was taught in the course this quarter and how the student projects were structured. Next, three of the project teams will give 20 minute presentations showing you the design and evolution of their interfaces this term.

Following the formal presentation we will have food, drinks, and a demo/poster session to give you a chance to meet all of the students and see their projects up close.

This is your opportunity to find out more about the current state of the art of web interaction education, to learn its role in a university curriculum, and to see some novel ideas presented by some of the top graduating seniors in the country.
