Signing-up/Applying for a Graduate TA Postition |
|---|
The TA sign-up procedure is a three step process:
1) REGISTRATION
2) APPLICATION
3) EDIT/ESTABLISH COURSE PREFERENCES
** Be sure to complete all three of these steps! **
1) REGISTRATION is for entering whether you wish to TA for the current quarter plus additional information to identify you and your general areas of interest. (Important: Be sure to check the box that says "I wish to TA Autumn, 2009")
2) APPLICATION is for updating data about your qualifications so that instructors can more easily find the best qualified TAs.
3) EDIT/ESTABLISH COURSE PREFERENCES is for entering your preferences of which courses you want to TA. Your preferences are ranked so that we can find the best match for your preferences and the instructors' preferences.
Any grad student who will not have a full RA appointment in autumn quarter should register and apply. If you are unsure whether you will need to TA in the fall (e.g. you're still trying to secure an RA position), you should still fill out a TA application. You may withdraw your application at any time during the TA registration period by going to the registration page of the TA website and unchecking the box that says "I wish to TA autumn, 2009" or by emailing me requesting a release BEFORE THE PRELIMINARY ASSIGNMENTS HAVE BEEN POSTED . Once the preliminary TA assignments are posted (during the week of September 7), students and faculty should assume that releases from TA assignments will not be granted. |
