During Spring 2008, the UW CSE department created a Combined Bachelors/Masters (BS/MS) program for current CS and CE majors at UW Seattle. The Masters degree awarded is a Master of Science in Computer Science & Engineering. Requirements for the progam include roughly one year of graduate-level courses, in addition to the standard undergraduate requirements for Computer Science or Computer Engineering. The program is designed to allow increased breadth and depth of study in the field, and was designed with feedback from CSE faculty, industry affiliates, and CSE students.

The program is currently funded for 10 graduates per year. The first BS/MS students will complete their Masters degrees in Spring 2009. Congratulations to them!
