Neuromuscular Hand Control

Human hand control is a complex problem for which a major portion of brain activities is devoted. We seek to understand the basis of motor control commands in the brain and their implementation with the muscles and joints to achieve desired motions of fingers. Such understanding is important for developing treatment plans for  patients who have lost hand control due to stroke etc. Understanding hand motion control is also important for us because we want to implement human hand control strategies on our Anatomically Correct Test-bed (ACT) hand.

Figures are copied from Pedram Afshar's thesis.
