In May, 2002, I went to Hawaii (with my parents) to attend the International World-Wide Web Conference. Here are some of the pictures and a bit of commentary.

This is the way it started out.

It took me a while to get used to the sunny place (I do live in Seattle, after all). So I had to check out a few pairs of sunglasses.

Boy, did I like myself in the mirror!

The people in Hawaii greeted me quite nicely with flowers, and I was also an attraction among other tourists:

This whole beach thing is quite exciting! First, there was my bathing suit debut:

Then, it took me a while to get used to the water, but with enough hugs, I can deal with it.

I really see a future for me in the sand business!

And in general, I was pretty happy around the beach:

The conference itself was quite interesting. I spent some time arguing with this Tim Berners-Lee guy (he seems to do well in life by repeating the letter W many times):

After some deep discussions, we agreed on some basic principles:

I try, even at this young age, to travel in style when possible:

Depite being on vacation, I made sure some things were in order. I continued to practice my standing skills:

I made sure my dad got his cappucino fix every day:

And of course, hugging my mama whenver possible!
