I am in the last year of my graduate studies in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Washington. My research interests range from compilers to computer architecture to semiconductor devices, with the goal of improving the performance, power efficiency, and ease-of-use of computer systems. My focus to date has been on developing synthesis compilers and novel computer architectures for improving the performance and power efficiency of high-level imperative programming languages, such as C/C++ and Java, with few if any changes to the language and programming model.
My research at UW has centered around two major projects: WaveScalar, a dataflow processor architecture, and CHiMPS, a C-to-hardware synthesis compiler for FPGAs. I am also a collaborator on the RAMP project.
I received my undergraduate degree from the University of San Diego, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a triple major in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and Physics.
