My short biography:
Anna Cavender is a graduate student pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Washington. She graduated with a B.S. in Computer and Information Science from the University of Oregon in 2004. Her research interests lie in Human-Computer Interaction, specifically assistive technology for people with disabilities. She was the recipient of the Computing Research Association (CRA) Outstanding Undergraduate Award in 2004 and is a National Science Foundation (NSF) Fellow. She was awarded the Best Student Paper Award for her work on MobileASL at the Eighth International ACM SIGACCESS Conference on Computers & Accessibility (ASSETS 2006).
