| I didn't run a single official race during 2007 as I tried to kickstart my academic career. I'm looking forward to 2008 where I get back into it. |

Tom Cotner organized a very small 30k for people training for a fall marathon. I thought it sounded like fun, so Jen and I ran it. The closest pace group was running 5:45's, so I decided to hang on for as long as possible. Ended up averaging 5:43's, which is 2:29 marathon pace for the 18.7 miles. Not too shabby.

Felt pretty horrible and ran pretty slow. A lot of people ran slow though, so either the conditions or the course could have contributed. Jen got 7th in the women's race.

I felt surprisingly good given all the stress I've been under and way faster than at Bloomsday. I turned in the final version of my quals paper last Friday and actually got some sleep after that. All that's left is my presentation. Wish me luck! |

With all my quals stuff due soon I've been really stressing out. My stomach hurt pretty badly. In any case, it was a decent race given everything. I ran 5:32's on a hilly course with a stomach ache. And it was a lot of fun. Our corporate team place 2nd overall and first in our division. |

Dustin and I ran this race after a pretty late night the night before. This race was pretty much stupid for anyone even slighty fast. They let the big fatties line up in front of the real runners (the race is about beer afterall), therefore causing me to push and shove my way to the front. The guy that beat me cheated by starting the front. If I ran this race again, I'd do that too.

Got there 10 minutes before start, no warmup. Think I could have gotten third, but winner was 20:11, a little too fast for me this early in the summer. On the plus side, I ran about the pace I had been running despite the 13 miler and 14 mile day + workout that I did earlier in the week, so I think I'm in better shape now than a coupel of weeks ago and will be able to do well at corporate nationals.

Last race ever as a Princeton Tiger and I got last...although I also got second behind the great Ryan Teising. Too bad my final season had to be plagued by injury and long nights working on CS. The team at Princeton has meant a lot to me. I'm sorry to see it go and really enjoyed my last times around Weaver track under the lights. Off to the world of "professional" running I go. |
