Sequioa NP (38 images)
We spent 1.5 days in Sequioa. The first day, we did an easy 6 mile hike through the giant forest. Even though we'd just come from the Redwoods a week before, it's always amazing to see 30ft diameter trees. That said, the Redwoods were more amazing, in that the big trees were everywhere (and taller), whereas the Sequioas tended to grow by themselves.

The second day, we headed to the north part of the park, which borders Kings Canyon NP. There, we took a 10 mile hike up into the high country, where we were rewarded with stunning views of solid granite cliffs and canyons.

All in all, while it was fun to see the biggest tree in the world, and the canyon hike was amazing, I think Sequioa is the sort of place one only needs to see once. If I get the itch to see big trees, I'll go back to the Redwoods; if granite canyons are in order, I'll head to Yosemite.
