Rattlesnake Ridge (30 images)
Rattlesnake Ridge is a nice little 4.5 mile round trip hike in the "Issaquah Alps", about 30 miles outside Seattle. It's a perfect afternoon hike. We left Seattle around 1:30 and got to Rattlesnake Lake around 2. Directions are simple: take I-90 East to exit 32 (just past North Bend). Turn left off the exit and drive for ~3 miles till you hit signs for Rattlesnake Lake. The lake and trails were a little cowded for our tastes, but the dogs were friendly and fun to watch :) The hike itself is 2 miles straight uphill to the ledges, which overlook the lake. Most people stop there, but the trail goes on another 2.5 miles to a fire-lookout tower. We followed the trail about a quarter mile to another fantastic point with no one around. Definitely recommend this hike if you have only a few hours, want fantastic views, and don't mind other people and dogs.
