Keunwoo Lee : CSE 142 : 29 September 1999
How to reach me:
E-mail: klee@cs
Web: http://www.cs.washington.edu/homes/klee/courses/142
Office: Sieg 226a; hours:
- Monday 3 - 4 p.m.
- Friday 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.
(Hours are out of date, see home page)
These office hours are subject to change. The room
reservation system in our department is rather ad hoc, so I cannot
guarantee that I will be in the above office at the above time on
any given week. Check the URL above throughout the semester for
updates: my home page will contain the next few office hours that
I have reserved for this course. You have been warned.
Why (do I) program?
In order of precedence:
- Have fun
- Save the world
- Have to make money somehow
Survival tips
- Think.
- Coding without thinking carefuly about the
problem first will only hurt you. The later you start, the
less you can afford to start hacking around without a
plan.
- Start early.
- The earlier you pick up a problem and start to really think
about it, the better you will do. Your brain will be working on
the problem even when you aren't.
- Ask questions.
- We exist only to serve you.
