Keunwoo Lee : CSE 142 : 29 September 1999

How to reach me:

E-mail: klee@cs
Web: http://www.cs.washington.edu/homes/klee/courses/142

Office: Sieg 226a; hours: (Hours are out of date, see home page)

These office hours are subject to change. The room reservation system in our department is rather ad hoc, so I cannot guarantee that I will be in the above office at the above time on any given week. Check the URL above throughout the semester for updates: my home page will contain the next few office hours that I have reserved for this course. You have been warned.

Why (do I) program?

In order of precedence:
  1. Have fun
  2. Save the world
  3. Have to make money somehow

Survival tips

Think.
Coding without thinking carefuly about the problem first will only hurt you. The later you start, the less you can afford to start hacking around without a plan.

Start early.
The earlier you pick up a problem and start to really think about it, the better you will do. Your brain will be working on the problem even when you aren't.

Ask questions.
We exist only to serve you.
