My research field is Computational Biology, and my project at UW CSE focuses on discovering non-coding RNAs. I'm currently also involved in a metagenomics project at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. In the past I did research for discovering cancer drug markers, modeling drug penetration in solid tumors, and finding genetic modules.

Outside school (where the time-spent ratio of school:non-school = 1:9), I like to travel, hike, sing, and shop. I'm learning yoga, and want to learn rock-climbing soon.

SLIDES about work I'm involved in

  • 2009.06.01 A UW CMB symposium talk on my continuing work in discovering ncRNAs using a quasi-clique approach (.pptx slides)
  • 2009.04.27 Finding Extremely Constrained Regions in Multiple Species Alignment (.pptx slides only contain the introduction and results, methodology was given on whiteboard)
  • 2008.05.04 Finding Non-coding RNAs through genomic-scale clustering (.ppt slides)
