If you'd like to be sure of finding me at some particular time, send email to make arrangements. I try to answer most email messages in a day or two, but I generally find that talking is a much more effective way of communicating - email is great for setting up meetings, but it's no substitute for them - particularly for debugging programs, working on concepts and algorithms, and similar things. (Never underestimate the bandwidth of face-to-face communications.)
Feel free to knock on the office door anytime it's open. If we can't take care of things immediately, we'll set up an appointment. If the door is closed, it means either I'm not in, or I'm pretending not to be in so I can work on something that I've left until the last minute. Thanks.
