I found my enthusiasm for student services as an undergrad peer adviser, orientation leader, and non-profit intern. After graduating in 2006 with a BA in Art and the Comparative History of Ideas, I spent a year as an Admissions Counselor. When I joined the CSE academic advising team in July 2007, I happily found the department to be friendly, creative, socially relevant, and far less nerdy than I'd expected. I'm a big fan of prospective students and pre-majors. I lead CSE190a, a seminar o help women explore computing majors and careers, and love meeting the smart your ladies who take the class every quarter. I'm also happy to talk about the student expereince on campus, including UW's fabulous resources: As an undergrad I also participated in Early Fall Start, a Freshman Interest Group, study abroad in Berlin, and worked as a designer and editor at The Daily. I also interned at a local design studio, and participated in the Achievers Scholarship Program. |
