There was a construction site outside the book store. I had visualized this picture as soon as the construction had started, and had waited for weeks before the machine rested in the right position. The mixed tungsten and florescent light and the reciprocity failure of the film gave the image surreal colors. I also made some shots during sunset, but they were later stolen in Manhattan.
