Mist above Cub Lake

After nine sunny days crossing glaciers high on the ``Ptarmagan Traverse,'' we began our return to civilization by dropping down past the tree line. The first rays of sun warmed the fogbound waters of Cub Lake, causing the mists to rise, and imbuing the rainforest with an eerie and exotic light.
