High Winds on Rainier
Mt. Rainier National Park, Washington
February 1989
It was quite frigid when I took this picture, even down at 3500' elevation. We
had spent the day cross country skiing near Longmire, because conditions
were too windy and cold up at Paradise. If you look closely at the left
skyline, you can see a huge plume of snow being blown off the 14,410' summit.
