Fair-Share Scheduling

Assignment Goals

• To get your hands dirty with time-sharing scheduler implementations
  
• To gain some exposure to the issues of scheduling on multiprocessors
  
• To gain some exposure to the relationship between scheduling and other parts of the OS (e.g., I/O and memory management)
• To think about what the scheduler is trying to accomplish, and how you might "verify" that your implementation has achieved those goals.
