Name Control Register / Control Register Register
Symbol
(A single Control Register containing three ControlRegisterRegisters)
Remarks A control register is simply a container for a set of control register registers.  By convention, it is used to pass control information from stage to stage in a pipelined machine implementation.   The UI may provide additional features to make this use convenient.  (See the UI section of this documentation.)
A control register register behaves like a standard register, except that its default behavior is to latch its input on clock down: if the D input port is zero (which it is if it is unconnected), the register latches; if it is 1, the register does not latch.
