SMOK Package Components SMOK Debug Components
Name NVRAM
Symbol
Remarks This component is part of what is required to enable "Boot" on the SMOK machine. (The other portions are a Block Device Controller that is attached to a disk (file), a Memory component, and an NVRAM component.) As of V4.0, when the machine is bootable and a boot has been requested, the Block Device Controller reads the first sector of its attached disk into the Memory component it is connected to, loading the data starting at location 0. All components are also reinitialized, and the cycle counter is set to 0. These actions happen atomically. (Future versions of SMOK may have a more flexible/realistic boot sequence.)
