Guidelines for Guest Accounts

Accounts on CSE Research Computing Facilities are billed through departmental recharge procedures.

If an account holder needs to use CSE research computing facilities on an occasional basis and the account sponsor certifies that use of CSE facilities will be insignificant or negligible, a "Research Guest" status is appropriate.

Notes:

1. No mail service. Mail directed to a guest account at cs.washington.edu will not be kept on our mail servers; the mail will be forwarded to an off-site email address (which all applicants for guest accounts must provide.)
2. Web home page hosting is not included in guest account privileges.
3. Guest accounts are not available on instructional systems.
4. The definition of negligible disk space usage for a home directory is: less than 25MB.
