The University's SSID is "UniversityofWashington"
and is case and spelling sensitive!! We are broadcasting this information however which
makes it a tad easier.
Scope: This page is being built to show configuration information to access CSE's Wireless network for Lucent Orinoco Cards.
What do I need? The first thing you will need will be the software for the Orinoco card. This can be found on the CD that was shipped with the card, from the web at Lucent or CSE's software distribution area which has a limited amount of drivers. What do I do next? 1.) Install the card as directed by the documentation provided. The below is to help you out a bit on the installation of the CSE session ID (OPTIONAL due to broadcasting SSIDs). "UniversityofWashington" Then, in the right hand corner of your screen you will see the client manager utility that looks like the below signal strength indicator. Click on it to open.
2.) Click Actions and choose "Add/Edit Configuration Profile"
3.) Click "Edit Profile"
4.) Type in "UniversityofWashington" exactly as shown here (case sensative) Leave all other tabs and choices set to default. Hit "OK" to save changes then 5.) Once back in the Profiles area, Choose the next open space and make a new profile for the Campus wireless infrastructure with the following information ("UniversityofWashington" as one word and case sensitive shown here.)
6.) Hit "OK" and close out of the configuration settings. You can now use the different profiles depending on what areas of campus you are utilizing. Last updated: Sept 14th, 2001 |
