Microsoft Corporation has made its developer software available free of charge to any student enrolled in a CSE course for credit, and to faculty and staff and laboratory systems in the University of Washington Department of Computer Science & Engineering.

If you are eligible, you can download products such as operating systems, including Windows Vista and Windows XP; developer tools, including Visual Studio, Visio; as well as server test platforms (Windows Server, SQL Server, Exchange Server, Commerce Server, .NET products and more.) Also available are development tools for Windows CE; MSDN Library; and resource kits for many products.

Use of software acquired through this donations program is limited to educational and non-commercial research purposes. To be eligible as a student, you must be registered for a CSE course for credit.

Software is being provided under a program known as "Microsoft Developer Network -- Academic Alliance" (MSDNAA), which has certain eligibility requirements and restrictions on use of the software.
