Date: Thu, 18 Sep 2003 12:28:39 PDT From: John PetersenTo: all-faculty , cs-grads-urgent , cs-staff Subject: [Cs-staff] UNIX fileserver migrations continue on Friday through the weekend. The migrations begun last weekend will continue this weekend for the following hosts: fury.cs.washington.edu -> echo.cs.washington.edu jack.cs.washington.edu -> tebo.cs.washington.edu If time permits, barb and hugh will also be migrated to new hardware in the Allen Center this weekend after the above servers have been migrated. The barb and hugh host names will not change. Fury will be taken offline beginning at 5 PM Friday 9/19 If your GWS home directory is located on one of these servers your e-mail will also be inaccessible while the migration is in progress for your server. If this migration takes more than one day, migration will stop as the server in progress is completed, and will begin again at 5 PM the next day. All affected content will be left in an operational state during the layover, and the system alert will be updated to reflect the status of the migration as it proceeds. For a complete listing of affected filesystems, please see: http://rtfm.cs.washington.edu/cgi-bin/wreq/req?show-all-1-58202 --John -- John R.
