Computer Training
for Administrative Staff

There are two avenues for Administrative Staff to get training in using your computer and the tools it provides in doing your work.

University Computer Training Classes The University offers training on the use of "popular" computer software and on specific UW administrative computer systems.  To take advantage of training opportunities, all you need to do is clear it with your supervisor, make scheduling arrangements, and register (early!)  As long as a course is related to the work you do, the department will pay the costs of the class.

To register for any of the C&C training courses (and to freely browse the entire course catalog), you will need to use your UWNetID. This is just your C&C account name and password (which are separate from your CSE account name and password). You can create your UWNetID by clicking here.

With your UWNetID, you can browse the catalog for information about the courses that are available, as well as dates, times and registration information. Here are a few highlights...

    Getting to Know Your Computer
Introductory level courses for your PC, Macintosh, and Unix environments.
    HTML and Web Training

    Word Processing and Desktop Publishing
Courses in Word and Pagemaker. A variety of courses offered in Macintosh and Windows environments.
    Spreadsheets and Databases

Departmental Computer Training Naturally, the UW classes are geared toward generic software or specific UW administrative systems, and they won't necessarily address the nuances of our local environment.  For that, we offer one-on-one training, and can put together small training sessions.  Please contact Warren Jessop (whj@cs) if you have a specific area where you would like some one-on-one help, or suggestions of topics for local training.
