Call For Napkins
PoCSci is a prestigious, internationally-recognized forum for computer scientists to explore the murky and obscure depths of their field. We invite the submission of papers, napkins, skits, topiary, and dioramas relating to all aspects of computer science or, for that matter, any graduate studies that involve the use of an abacus (or better). Previous years' papers have covered a wide range of topics. This year, we are especially interested in the following:
- Theoretical computing, as in you're theoretically computing while watching YouTube, but no real work is done
- Trends in Research Funding: So You've Decided to Rob a Bank
- Food over IP (FoIP)
- Research beginning with the letter "Q"
- Angering politicians: Identifying potential "That's What She Said" jokes in the Wikileaks cables.
Nevertheless, anything with a sketch of a computer scribbled on the cover page will be considered.
Abstracts must be submitted via Internet E-Mail to supersat at cs.washington.edu by June 2nd, 2011.
Papers may be subjected to a rigorous double-blind review by a pair of blue herons, but depending on the volume of submissions, may be fast-tracked through a prestigious non-reviewed acceptance process.
