TA Orientation and Mentor

Hopefully, you already attended the university's TA orientation session. That session dealt with issues like university regulations, ethics, and respecting diversity. These issues, while important, will not be covered here.

You should have also received the Mentor handbook for new teaching assistants. If not, call CIDR at 543-6588 to obtain a copy. Be sure to read the handbook, especially the section on teaching courses. The handbook contains quite a bit of useful information on regulations, procedures, ethics, university resources for TAs, CIDR's services, and teaching techniques.

The information presented here is intended to supplement the information provided during orientation and in Mentor.
