We, the current grads, offer these fun, nutritious, and/or
educational activities for before and after orientation. For some
events you can just show up, but for most you should RSVP to the
person organizing.
"Raw Fish Run"Wednesday, Sept. 22 Andrew Petersen will lead people out for a sushi dinner the night before orientation. No need to RSVP. Beer and Nachos at Big TimeThursday, Sept. 23 Big Time is a favorite brewery among the department. Good selection of house-brewed ales, lagers, and ciders. Fun and delicious sandwiches too. Mike Ringenburg will be leading people over. No need to RSVP. Hike: Mt. Rainier Paradise trailsSaturday, Sept. 25 We'll leave from campus at 8 (or Keunwoo can pick you up from your home before that) and get back early evening. Necessary gear and details are posted here. Please RSVP to Keunwoo (klee (at) cs) by 1pm Friday with phone numbers, address, and whether you can drive. Urban HikeSaturday, Sept. 25 We'll do a connect-the-dots walking tour of major Seattle parks and trails in the region around the UW and downtown, avoiding streets and keeping to the green and unpaved as much as possible. We'll leave from the Allen Center atrium at 10 am Saturday Sept. 25th and be out all day, with a lunch break at the Pike Place market (and optional dinner at a place to be chosen by the group).
