CSE Outstanding Staff Award

 

Nomination criteria:

This award is designed to recognize a staff member that continually does an outstanding job. The nominee must possess these qualities:

  • Shows reliability and commitment to the job
  • Is competent and knowledgeable
  • Follows through on commitments
  • Has a positive attitude and/or behavior admired and valued by others

The nominee will also possess many of the following qualities:

  • Accepts challenges with eagerness
  • Uses personal initiative and creativity to solve problems
  • Demonstrates a commitment to error free work
  • Seeks to understand the broader context of the job and is willing to be involved in decision making
  • Initiates self development to increase knowledge and abilities
  • Offers time, energy and ideas in reaching common goals; willingly and actively participates - in work unit, department, and on teams
  • Shows courtesy in working with others and develops effective relationships with customers and coworkers
  • Works effectively with others in meeting customer needs and improving work processes

Eligibility for the Award:

Open to all permanent and temporary classified, professional and hourly staff including SLA’s in Support & computing labs, student assistants in the administrative office.

Must have worked at least six months in CSE.

Members of the recognition committee are not eligible.

Individuals may receive this award once every three years.

 

Nomination process:

Nominations may be submitted at any time by CSE faculty, staff or students.

More than one nominator is encouraged.

Anonymous or self nominations are not allowed.

 

Award selection & communication:

The recognition committee will review nominations for eligibility by an established deadline in November and May.

The award will be given twice a year in the last week of November and May.

The award will be announced via email and presented to the recipient at the monthly birthday celebration event.

The recipient’s name will be added to CSE’s staff recognition web page and a blurb will appear in MSB.

 

Award:

Framed personalized certificate AND $200 VISA gift card.

Honorable mention (when appropriate): Framed personalized certificate AND $50 VISA gift card.
