of Particular Interest to CSE Staff

• Staff Wiki -- A wiki is a collaborative webspace, with simple formatting (easier than HTML), on-the-fly page creation, and lots of bells and whistles. Add any topics you think relevant; others can add to your sections too (you can be notified of changes to any pages you're interested in, and a history is kept of all changes).
• Staff List -- Who's Who in CSE Staff Org Chart
• People you can you talk to if you have a question or problem concerning your job.
• CSE Occasional Telecommuting Policy
• Your personalized UW information. This requires your UW Net ID.

Time Cards, etc.:

• Leave Request Form for all staff. Before your leave, print this form, and complete the top half and give to your supervisor. If your request is approved, then upon your return, complete the bottom half, sign it, and give to your supervisor. For sick leave, just complete the bottom half when you return (and your name and date at the top), and give to your supervisor.
• Timesheet for Classified Staff and Level 1 Professional Staff -- These Excel timesheets should be completed and turned in weekly to Kathleen Goforth, Room 229.
  (You will be given an option: to either download it as a file, or Open it. If you download, then just open the downloaded file with Excel, enter your infomation, then print it. If you Open it, be wary of selecting the option marked "Open OLE Server in-place".)
• Automated timecard for hourly-paid part-time and temporary employees. Use this "virtual timeclock" to track and report your hours on a bi-weekly basis. Submit on 15th and last day of each month.
• Unofficial 220 (Leave) Form -- This automated spreadsheet is for your convenience only and is not your Official Leave Record form.

Appropriate Use of University Computers and Computer Services:

• Email and Computer Usage by Faculty and Staff -- A letter from the Provost and Executive Vice President.
• Restrictions on Use of Email -- A reminder from the Dean of the College of Engineering that certain types of e-mail messages sent by UW Faculty and Staff using UW computer systems violate state policy.
• Surf for Dollars -- NOT! -- New Internet scams pop up all the time. Use of Department equipment cannot result in tangible personal gain. Here is one example of misuse of department equipment.

Misc UW Forms & Services:

• UW Yellow Pages -- A comprehensive listing of services provided by the Central Administration. Entries include Bus Pass, Childcare, Insurance, and the perennial favorite - PARKING.
• UW Invoice Voucher -- Use the TAB key to move between fields, and the RETURN key for entering multiple lines in a single field. Then print the form, obtain signatures, and attach the reciepts.
• UW Journal Voucher -- An Excel spreadsheet. Enter information (totals are automatically calculated for debits and credits.) Then print the form, and send to appropriate individual for approval and signature. (Individual departments are not authorized to submit JV forms directly.)
• Gift/Pledge Transmittal Form & Other Donations Forms -- A whole slew of forms from the UW Office of Development.
