The emphasis is on planning, knowledge representation, machine learning, and software agents. Included are representations that enable efficient decision making under uncertainty, learning techniques for increasing problem solving efficiency, automated design and diagnosis, and planning algorithms for expressive action languages. The "Softbot" project applies planning and machine learning to build intelligent Internet agents.
