Community Computer Network Surveys

I have been conducting a survey on "Community Networks" for over a year. I used this information for an article that appeared in the January, 1994 "Communications of the ACM." Most of the information I've obtained so far has been from the US but I am very interested in information from systems outside the US as well.

I currently have survey results from over 30 systems and I estimate that there are over 100 systems that are either operational or in the planning stage on which I need information.

I plan to use this information in a book I am writing. Beyond that I see the information as a necessary part of our community's memory which we can hopefully use in the struggle to develop community networks as a vital part of the future electronic landscape. This information will be made publicly available via a number of different approaches.

The survey itself is fairly small so if you are associated with a community network we have not yet covered, please take the time to fill it out. I'm also interested in feedback on the survey itself. If you are reading this with a forms-capable WWW browser (like Mosaic for the X Window System), here's a way to provide some.
