We are working on a wide variety of algorithmic problems for annotating genomic DNA, discovering regulatory motifs in DNA and protein sequences, inferring regulatory relationships among genes, and analyzing gene expression data.
Our department also conducts research into how the brain computes, and how we can profitably emulate its computational model in hardware and AI. More information on neurally-inspired computing is available on these faculty members' home pages:
