The theory seminar meets weekly during the academic year. Usually, an outside speaker presents a recent paper or a topic of current interest.

Small groups of CSE graduate students read papers of general interest or relevance to their research, and present them to the group.

The UW Combinatorics Seminar and UW Probability Seminar are run by the department of mathematics. Topics covered are frequently of interest to the theoretical CS community.
